Rihana is just 13 months old. She lives in a rural area of Mawana. Her family, like many others in the region, live in a constant state of poverty, unable to access a nutritious and secure food supply.
Rihana visited the Khidmat Foundation health centre with her mother in December 2019. She was concerned that Rihana, like her sister before her, was suffering from diarrhoea and rapid weight loss. Following assessment, Rihana was diagnosed with acute malnutrition and admitted to the clinic for treatment.
Thankfully, following treatment Rihana has begun to recover and has now been discharged. Her family have been given nutritious supplements, support and she continue to be monitored through the Khidmat Foundation programme.
